Practice Philosophy

As a Clinical Nutritionist with a naturopathic point of view, my approach to health care is unique.  First, REMOVE things causing the body stress and harm.  Second, ADD high quality foods, supplements and other support to help the body repair itself.  We aren’t taught this, but all living cells want to live and be well – our job is to remove impediments to progress and offer the nutrients needed to fix things.

“Food First” is my basic guideline, as what we eat and drink is our biggest piece of chemistry. So, first upgrade the diet to get enough protein, fats and vegetables.  This will stabilize your blood sugar and immediately improve mood, sleep, attention, weight gain and food cravings.

Secondly, look at lifestyle issues such as lack of sleep, stress levels at work, anxiety, and exercise choices.  All these must be improved if you expect your body to reverse its downhill slide!

Third, eliminate foods which you cannot tolerate, such as sugar, cow's dairy, wheat and other starches.  This reduces pain and inflammation in the body, allowing the intestines to heal and produce more immune fighters and neurotransmitters.

Fourth, reduce toxicity levels, balance hormones using bio-identical hormones, and fight chronic infections.  This is where you need focused guidance from a Naturopathic practitioner.
