APRIL 2005

Greetings friends,

Spring is here in full force, and you may need our “Allergena” drops if the spring trees and grasses bother you.  “Allergena” is made by geographic zones for 8 different American markets, and we carry Zone 5 for Texas trees, weeds and grasses.  We also have just Oak Drops if oak is your main spring allergen.

My new favorite website is www.wilderness family naturals.  This is a family-run business with an amazing amount of natural foods – everything from Philippine coconut oil (which we are now carrying) to dried vegetables to soaked and dehydrated nuts and seeds the way one of our favorite books, Nourishing Traditions, tells us to do them.  You can easily spend 3 or 4 hours on their web site reading about foods, products and their uses.  If you can, try their Palm Oil – an amazing vitamin rich, bright red oil for cooking, used by millions of people around the world.

If you have not gotten used to the taste of our Premier Coconut Oil, try the new, milder Philippine oil that we buy from Wilderness Family Naturals.  It does not muscle test quite as well as Premier Coconut Oil, but it tastes sweeter and is still extremely good for you.  Remember that coconut oil seems to bypass most of the digestive system, making it easy for those of us with poor gallbladder function to absorb it.  I think it just passes through the stomach wall directly into the bloodstream.

There are always new foods and new supplements to try.  I am continually amazed by the amount of new therapies being introduced by my favorite companies as well as new ones.  I will pass them on to you when I feel confident about them.

Take care,

Beverly

NEWS & NOTES

I know that many of you are enjoying our “Cellerciser” soft-bounce exercise rebounder!  I continue to create new ways to use mine while protecting old areas of injury.  Last night I sat on it, leaned back, and slowly (and repeatedly) brought my knees up to my chest one at a time.  I also march in place when I don’t feel like bouncing.  Come try the one in the office anytime – it costs $365, and will give you safe, soft-bounce whole body exercise that is easy and fun to do.

Another terrific new product in stock is Eon Structured Water Concentrate.  This formula allows water molecules to group together in six-sided structures (a hexagon).  When we are born, our body water is composed of hexagonally structured water, and this structure is found in all fruits and vegetables as well.  Tap water, distilled water, and even spring water are clustered differently and are often incoherently jumbled.  The body has to expend energy to reorganize the H2O molecules to better absorb the water into our cells.

Hexagonal water structures increase cellular water absorption by 2 to 3 times, increasing cellular energy and enhancing cell nutrition and detoxification.  Water lubricates our joints and discs, so this may also help pain and stiffness.  Many people notice they can drink structured water without feeling bloated, a common problem.

Overall, you will need less water than before and be better hydrated. A bottle of concentrate costs $35 and will restructure 5 gallons of water.  I prefer to save a little money and just add ½ teaspoon to10 ounces of water a few times daily. Drinking even 2 to 3 glasses of structured water daily may make fundamental differences in your body.  Try some soon...

REDUCED PRICES ON METABOLIC TESTS & LASER ALLERGY SESSIONS

Many of you have benefited from two of our most valuable offerings – Laser Allergy Treatments, and, Metabolic Diet Typing.  I have personally found these to be among the best work I have ever done in my ongoing attempts to restore my health.  And now we offer them at a lower price!

Many of you don’t know about the treatments we do using a “cold” laser.  This $8000 hand-held laser is used to treat acupuncture points on the body as well as specific areas of pain or congestion.  I recently used its concentrated red laser light every few hours or so for a 5 day attack of shingles.  It really helped the pain, and the attack was, I believe, significantly shortened in duration.

The more common use of this laser in my office is to do desensitization treatments to pollen, animal dander, viruses, mercury, foods, vitamins, chemicals, pesticides, bacteria, molds, etc.

Have you ever heard of NAET?  This stands for Nambudripod’s Allergy Elimination Technique.  Dr. Nambudripod is a doctor in India who discovered she could do allergy treatments with acupuncture and acupressure. Eventually, someone figured out to use the concentrated laser light to treat the acupuncture points instead of needles.

We offer laser desensitization sessions as a one-time treatment to help with pollen allergies, but the best way to utilize this amazing tool is to do several series of ten treatments.  I have personally done over 70 treatments and always benefit from them.  If I am wired up, they calm my nervous system down.  If I am sick or tired they restore me.  I don’t get sick from pollens like I used to, and I have made great strides against the Epstein Barr Virus that caused my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

One laser allergy session treats 3 to 10 items - as many as your body muscle tests to do.  Each session currently costs $50.  WE WILL NOW OFFER SINGLE SESSIONS FOR $40, “BUY 6 – GET 1 FREE” PACKAGES FOR $240 AND “BUY 10 – GET 2 FREE” PACKAGES FOR $400.  This is a 20% reduction on an already great price for a therapy that usually costs $75 to $100 per session.

I want as many of you as possible to benefit from this technology, so I don’t want price to be a factor.  (Those of you with current laser packages will receive a free session or two to reward you for your commitment to desensitization.)

I ALSO WILL LOWER THE PRICE ON THE METABOLIC DIET TYPING TEST FROM $50 TO $35.  This test is taken on your own computer, and will tell us specific information on the best and worst meats, vegetables and fats for your metabolism.  My chronic insomnia cleared up with the subtle but powerful changes in my diet when I took the test 6 months ago.  In addition to telling me to eat more red and dark meat and fewer vegetables, my Type needs significantly more healthy fats than I was getting. Every client I have ever had should do this test!!

Call us for more information on these two life-changing tools.  You deserve it!

SOME THOUGHTS ON FOOD

Speaking of your Metabolic Type, I have found that about 60% of those I have tested are what Dr. Mercola calls “Protein Types” in his wonderful book “Total Health”.  His recipes are coded for the different Metabolic Types, including Protein Types, Mixed Types and Carb Types.  (There are actually 6 different Metabolic Type Diets, but they can be reduced to 3 for recipe purposes).  Anyway, “Protein Types” do well with dark meats and richer fats, and sardines are one of our recommended foods.

Having never eaten a sardine before, I worried they would be totally inedible.  To my surprise I find I like them, and eat them 1 or 2 times weekly.  I caution you to only buy water-packed sardines, as the oils used in oil-packed types are not extra-virgin or cold-pressed.  I add a little olive oil to mine, especially the delicious “O” brand which contains a bit of lemon or lime juice in with the oil (available at Whole Foods).  Since sardines are sold packed in mustard also, you might try adding some good quality mustard to your water-packed sardines, or a bit of tomato sauce.  These make a great snack…

On a different note, a common question I hear in my office is “What foods contain carbohydrates?”  I basically teach that there are only 3 types of foods – proteins, fats and carbohydrates.  Proteins come primarily from anything that walks, flies, swims or wiggles!  Fish, meat, dairy, poultry and eggs are proteins.  Fats are found in all protein foods, and can also be extracted from certain plants as well (coconuts and olives, for example).  Nuts and seeds are the only food containing a generous amount of protein, fats and carbs, so they are listed under all 3 categories.

Carbohydrates come from plants.  Complex carbohydrates such as beans and whole grains do contain a little protein, but these are not complete proteins such as those found in animal foods.  Soy is not the healthy food we have been told by the soy industry, so I prefer my clients to stop eating this particular carbohydrate.

The list of carbohydrate dominant foods is huge.  Here is a list, written in order of preferred carbs first: vegetables (low starch); vegetables (high starch); well-soaked or sprouted beans and lentils; low starch fruits (northern fruits like berries, apples, pears, cherries); high starch fruits (tropical fruits such as bananas, pineapple); whole grains such as well-soaked brown rice or sprouted whole-grain bread; organic juice; refined grains (pasta, most breads, most cereals, cookies, etc.); sugars; alcohols.

Most people forget that their weekly intake of alcohol, sodas, breads, cereals, juice, desserts, fruit and beans can really add up to a lot of carbohydrates.  And then, add those healthy vegetables in addition!  The body will store excess carbs as fat – both fat on the body, as well as blood fats like triglycerides.  Weight loss and cholesterol reduction will be much easier with a reduced-carbohydrate diet.

I personally get my carbs only from the low starch vegetables.  I eat little or none of any of the rest as excess carbohydrates can also cause blood sugar “crashes”, insomnia and mood swings.  Try to limit your carbohydrate intake from all sources to 30 or 50% of your calories (depending on your Metabolic Type), and eat the rest from proteins and fats.  Bon apetite!

20% OFF DREAMOUS SKIN CARE PRODUCTS!

Every year I put our wonderful line of Dreamous Skin Care products on sale, mostly to introduce all the new clients to these great items.

In my desire to avoid putting toxic chemicals on my skin (which the liver has to detoxify), I searched a long time for a skin care line that was complete, effective, and contained truly all-natural ingredients.  The line we carry contains homeopathic minerals, purified water, and cold-pressed oils.

If you examine most cosmetics products, you will see lots of manmade chemicals and long, unpronounceable words.  I feel it’s just as important to “eat” natural ingredients through the skin as it is to eat them through the mouth!  I don’t want any of you to eat hydrogenated oils in your food – why would I want you to “eat” them through the skin?

I love that our Dreamous Skin Care line contains only cold-pressed oils.  They won’t clog the pores, and they seem to nourish my skin beautifully.  Dreamous makes a nice Facial Cleanser, Moisturizer, Eye Gel, light Glycolic Rejuvenator, Scrub, Mask, and a Therapy Serum for damaged skin.  I also use their Scalp Treatment as a light hair gel.

The entire line is useful and is very reasonably priced. Consider feeding your skin some great food this spring!
